An independent retailer is investing £100,000 and creating three new jobs opening a new flooring store in Stockport – it’s first in the North West of England.
Flooring Superstore is opening a 4,000 square-foot store at Portwood Court on Saturday 19th October.
This will be the fourth store to open nationally in just three months, following other openings in Milton Keynes, Bristol and Newton Abbot.
The Stockport store will sell an unrivalled range of carpets but also offer a huge choice of other flooring, such as laminate, luxury vinyl tiles and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass. The latter is designed to meet the growing demand from householders for artificial, rather than real, grass.
The brands are owned by North East-based company; Connection Flooring, which started life just seven years ago as a purely online business. Now, with the Stockport opening, they have expanded to 16 physical stores across the UK.
Stockport Flooring Superstore Manager Paul Hulme said: “We’re delighted to have been able to choose Stockport for our first store in the North West of England.
“It’s in a great location close to the town centre and just off the M60, so we’re hoping the store will prove popular with shoppers, especially because they will be able to get all their flooring under one roof.
“We are also particularly keen to make our own contribution to the local retail economy and to support local charities where we can as we believe in giving something back in the areas where we have stores.”
To mark the opening, Flooring Superstore is running a free, instore ‘Golden Ticket’ promotion. Anyone who comes into the store, regardless whether they are buying flooring or not, will be invited to take one of 150 tickets. 145 of these tickets will have 15% off flooring, four will give people £250 to spend in-store and one golden ticket will give a lucky person £1,000 to spend on flooring ranges of their choice.
Paul added: “The golden ticket promotion is something new we have introduced in recent openings and it has proven very popular.
“Depending on the ranges of flooring the winner chooses, it could be enough to floor an average two-bedroom house, so it’s a great way to introduce ourselves to residents of Stockport and the surrounding areas. We wish everybody the best of luck in the promotion.”
