The Candidate expands as new departments swell and revenue soars

""

Revenue, staff numbers, and clients are up at Manchester-based digital recruitment agency, The Candidate, as it reaps the rewards of splitting the business into niche divisions last year.

The Candidate has divided its business into a number of expert sectors, including retail, eCommerce, and production, to offer clients a bespoke service for a range of different digital roles.

The eCommerce department in particular has grown significantly since its launch this time last year, representing 40 per cent of the business’ overall revenue last month.  The Candidate expects this arm of the company will account for over half of its total revenue within the year.

The business has also just announced its best ever month, after experiencing a 40 per cent boost in revenue in March, compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the Candidate has recently secured a number of new high profile clients and now recruits for Gumtree and JD Williams.

Additional staff members have been appointed to handle the workload, with the team now standing at 13, 8 more than 12 months ago and triple that of when the company set up in 2012.

With government ambitions to make Manchester a Northern Powerhouse in digital, and the industry employing 1.46 million people, forecasted to grow by 5.4 per cent by 2020, the firm is attributing growth to the region's burgeoning digital sector.

Brian Matthews, managing partner at The Candidate, said: “It’s great to see that the digital industry is going from strength to strength. As a business, we have adapted to provide the fast moving sector with talent it really needs.

“Our new eCommerce department, for example, has taken off incredibly since its launch. Being able to offer a tailored service to the digital industry, where there are a number of complex job roles, is incredibly important. It’s something that our clients are finding really useful. Our recruiters in this department are experts in understanding the eCommerce world and can therefore offer a service that is next to none. The same goes for our other specialist departments.

“March was a particularly good month for us and we have had a whole host of new clients coming to us to help them bring talent into their business as they expand. We’re confident we'll witness continued business growth throughout 2015, and we can't wait to see where we will be this time next year”
