Series of promotions at award-winning Manchester architecture firm

"Simon has done a fantastic job of growing our custodial and judicial sector, which is going from strength to strength"

Award-winning architecture and design practice BTP have announced a series of staff promotions within its team.

Simon Dennis, who joined BTP in 2015 as an associate, has been promoted to associate director.

Simon manages the company’s judicial and custodial sector, delivering projects for a national contractor working for the Ministry of Justice.

He has more than 20 years of experience from working on domestic projects for private clients to multimillion-pound construction programmes for government bodies and international commercial organisations.

The news follows the recent promotion of Leanne Taylor and Elliot Denby to associate level. The pair have worked for BTP since 2017 and are being supported by the Stockport-based firm to become Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)-accredited conservation architects.

Leanne and Elliot have played key roles in some of BTP’s high-profile projects, including large housing association schemes and unique heritage projects.

Architectural assistant Kerry Dragon has recently passed his RIBA Part III architectural qualifications, bringing the number of architects in the team up to eight.

Kerry joined BTP in 2018 and has worked on numerous housing and conservation projects while studying towards his Part III.

And after 10 years of excellent service at BTP, director Lee Podmore has decided to step down from his role in order to pursue other opportunities. Lee has worked tirelessly for BTP, which is backed up by excellent client relationships and feedback and we wish him well in his future endeavours.

BTP architects managing director, Vicky Saunders, said; “Simon has done a fantastic job of growing our custodial and judicial sector, which is going from strength to strength. I am delighted to welcome him to his new role as associate director, which he brings a wealth of experience to.

“At BTP we are committed to investing in the development of our staff, particularly to supporting young talent like Leanne, Elliot and Kerry to shine in their careers.

“Congratulations to Leanne and Elliot on their promotions to associate level and to Kerry on achieving his RIBA Part III qualifications.

“Lee has been a valued member of the BTP team over the past decade. We are sorry to see him go and wish him every success for the future.”

BTP are a highly skilled team of architects and design professionals based near Manchester with a strong track record over the past 70 years in a range of architectural fields.
