With over half of home fires caused by cooking accidents, Regenda Homes decided to take action to help improve safety for its residents at Windmill House and Carnegie Court by offering free electrical deep fat fryers in exchange for old chip pans.

Kevin Short, Communities Team Leader at Regenda Homes, said: “We were delighted at the response to this initiative which is all about improving safety.

“Chip pans are still used by a lot of people and so it was great to be able to provide them with a new safer electrical deep fat fryer.”

During the two events, Regenda Home swapped a total of 31 chip pans for residents.

Regenda Homes is one of the North West’s leading housing associations with over 14,000 properties available for social and affordable rent, shared ownership and outright sale. For more information visit regenda.org.uk
