National jewellery firm opens new headquarters at Honeycomb Chester

National jewellery brand ChloBo has opened a fashionable new company headquarters in Chester.

The growing Cheshire jewellery label has relocated to a combined office and production department at Honeycomb Chester on the Chester Business Park.

Having outgrown its previous premises in the city centre, ChloBo had been on the lookout for bigger premises that reflected the company’s growing image as one of the UK’s leading contemporary fashion jewellery brands.

The recently opened Honeycomb Chester is a business community featuring turnkey accommodation for up to 15 small- and medium-sized firms. Nearly two thirds of its space has now been let.

ChloBo creative director, Chloe Moss, said that the new headquarters could accommodate double the current workforce of 25 employees under her ambitious expansion plans.

“ChloBo is growing week-by-week, distributing to more than 100 retailers in the UK each month. We needed premises that fit our brand and image, and has capacity for expansion.

“We had outgrown the building in the city centre. We were spread across different floors, which made communication difficult, and parking was regularly a problem.

“Honeycomb Chester was a perfect fit for us. It is near the motorway, has plenty of free parking and is close enough to the city to drive into in a short time.

“Honeycomb Chester has given us the blank canvas we needed. Now that we’ve completed the fit-out, it suits the ChloBo brand perfectly.”

The new headquarters includes a production department, a replica store area for training displaying the current season’s jewellery, and a glamorous reception area for entertaining clients, customers and guests.

Business space at Honeycomb Chester, which is available to let through agents BA Commercial and Legat Owen, was extensively renovated in September 2014 by Jersey-based entrepreneur Spencer Bourne.

Mr Bourne said: “ChloBo is just the sort of business we had in mind when we developed Honeycomb Chester. It’s a young, vibrant, ambitious business with a fantastic work ethic, that should be right at home here.

“We’ve had a fantastic response to the development since we opened in September last year. We’re currently at 60 per cent occupancy, and are on course to be full by the end of next year.”

“There is still some availability left at Honeycomb Chester, and we’re looking to supply turnkey packages for prospective tenants, covering all aspects of a unit’s fit-out and occupancy.”

Formerly know as The Pavilions, the units have been significantly refurbished.  They feature contemporary colour-coded exteriors, natural lighting on all four sides, suspended tile ceilings, LED lighting and full air conditioning.

The units can be fully fitted to a tenant’s specific requirements, providing a turnkey solution organised within an agreed, sensible timescale.

Fraser Crewe, director at BA Commercial, said: “The market is extremely buoyant at the moment, and Honeycomb Chester really is the only location for office space of this quality in the area.”

Will Sadler, associate director at Legat Owen, said: “We are currently under offer on a number of units at Honeycomb Chester, but still have availability for office space of between 1,500 and 6,000 sq ft delivered bespoke to each tenant’s requirements.”
