Construction is under way at a brand-new housing development, Broadmeadow Park, in Sandbach, Cheshire, which will see 165 new homes delivered for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.

Developer Breaks Ground on 165-Home Sandbach Scheme

"Sandbach is an incredibly popular location, and weve carefully designed Broadmeadow Park to complement the villages existing environment with a big focus on open green spaces."
Tim Seward, director for sales at Latimer

As part of the development arm of the UK’s largest affordable housing provider, Clarion Housing Group, the scheme is one of Latimer’s first major residential build in the North West, delivered in partnership with Cheshire-based contractor Lane End Group.

The 23-acre site off Abbey Road will blend a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, with 116 earmarked for private sale, 17 for shared ownership and 32 for affordable rent.

Set in open green space, the development offers a wide range of homes to suit the growing Sandbach community, including first time buyers, families and executive homes.  Homes are available to purchase from £282,000, with Help to Buy options available.  All homes are finished to a high specification with no hidden upgrade fees.

The first homes are set to be handed over to new homeowners by summer 2020 with the full scheme expected to complete in spring 2022.

Tim Seward, director for sales at Latimer, comments: “Sandbach is an incredibly popular location, and we’ve carefully designed Broadmeadow Park to complement the village’s existing environment with a big focus on open green spaces to strengthen its rural feel. Construction starting is a huge milestone for this scheme and we look forward to seeing the development take shape and handing over the first homes to our new residents.”

Latimer aims to help tackle the housing crisis by increasing its pipeline of new build developments, with profits reinvested into building more affordable homes and supporting communities. As well as Broadmeadow Park, the developer will also be delivering a 272- apartment scheme in Salford, known as Amplify.

Tim adds: “This scheme, the first of its kind for Latimer in the North West, is a major milestone for our business as we expand our housebuilding model across the country. We truly believe that housing providers have a vital part to play in easing the housing crisis and Broadmeadow Park will be a strong example of what we can achieve, not only in the North but across the whole country.”

Richard Harrison, Managing Director of Lane End Group, said: “This development will bring much needed housing to this part of Cheshire, as well as benefits to the local economy. Lane End has a track record of creating developments that communities can be proud of and this is exactly what we will deliver at Broadmeadow Park.”
