Businesses wanted to help careers project in Fleetwood schools

"Fundamentally it is about getting out there, inspiring the next generation and helping them find a suitable career path to follow."
Steve Newsham, Regional Director at Regenda Homes

Launched last year, The Job Junction was a huge success and linked 10 local businesses with seven schools across Fleetwood. This year, Regenda Homes is hoping to enlist even more support for the scheme.

Running over a number months, the programme guides students through career advice and the process of applying for apprenticeships.

There are also a number of career events which give students the chance to speak with professionals from the businesses taking part.

Steve Newsham, Regional Director at Regenda Homes, said: “The Job Junction is a fantastic project which has received praise from students, teachers and parents.

“Fundamentally it is about getting out there, inspiring the next generation and helping them find a suitable career path to follow.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses in Fleetwood.”

Businesses who took part in the programme last year include M&Y Maintenance and Construction, My Dentist, Santander and RNLI.
