‘Fairytale of New York’ Steals the Nation’s Heart as Best Carpool Karaoke Song
With only six days until Christmas it’s time to plan your last journey home and get your playlist ready.
According to a recent poll, 33 per cent of car pool colleagues will be singing their Santa socks off to The Pogues classic ‘Fairy Tale of New York’.
The especially poignant smash hit by Wham – ‘Last Christmas’ takes second place in the chart and transports people down memory lane back to when James Cordon took to our screens with the legend George Michael in the original car pool karaoke scene in Gavin and Stacey.
The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, has seen a huge surge in popularity this year and has helped her steal the third spot in this much anticipated Christmas chart. Her ‘All I Want for Christmas’ tour has seen her travel the world, as well as transport her Christmas smash hit right back in to the nation’s heart.

The survey asked 3235 people when they like to start playing Christmas music in their car and the overall results were as follows:

4. Chris Rea – Driving Home for Christmas - 11%
5. Wizzard – I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday - 8%
