Blazing a Trail - from Mayfair to Manchester and across the North West

Mana Restaurant lights up with Intecho

Blazing a Trail - from Mayfair to Manchester and across the North West

"Manchester is well recognised as the second destination city in the UK and were excited to see demand increase across the wider region for our building automation solutions"
Paul Murphy

Highly anticipated destination restaurant, Mana, launching this week in Manchester, appointed north-west based Intecho to provide its intelligent lighting solution as part of its interior design.

Chester-born chef, Simon Martin, whose culinary pedigree includes two years at two Michelin-starred Noma in Copenhagen, voted the best restaurant in the world for 4 years, has returned to his North-West roots to open his first restaurant in Manchester. Mana is one of the most hotly anticipated and talked about restaurants to hit Manchester for some time. Using strictly British produce to create a menu that constantly changes, enabling creativity and evolution, with a view of bringing the first, and long overdue Michelin Star to this vibrant city.

The brief at the impressive Mana has seen Intecho design in-house automated systems to control atmospheric DALI lighting by individual table which is all controlled via a simple to use app by the front of house team, as well as the design and installation of smart technology throughout.

With London credentials including Annabel's of Mayfair, now muted as Europe’s premier night time destination, the renowned restaurants of The Ivy and Sexy Fish Restaurant, Emily Roux’s recently opened Caractère, Prada Europe HQ, and Conrad St James Hotel, Intecho have proven that it’s not just the English capital who can achieve and appreciate significant value of leading building automation technology. Intecho has also been responsible for lighting up some of the city’s most iconic buildings including the Department of Work and Pensions’ (DWP) city centre offices in St Peter’s Square, and the Motel One hotels at Piccadilly and Royal Exchange.

In recent months, the company has been fundamental in the well-publicised, multi-million-pound regeneration project at Preston Market. Having installed full DALI, all colour change and providing remote energy metering for each stall, Intecho has been integral to the rejuvenation of Preston’s town centre, and part of the local government’s larger plans.

Intecho has also been responsible for installation of the latest WAGO energy efficient intelligent lighting, which has created a completely automated lighting system across the DWP’s five floors at Two St. Peter’s Square. The complex and sophisticated controls have included daylight dimming and full emergency test systems.

Only last month, Intecho reported a 30 per cent year-on-year growth as it capitalises upon the exploding Internet of Things (IoT) market, with leading commercial and hospitality venues throughout Greater Manchester turning to the company to transform the experience offered to guests and personnel alike.

Co-founder and director of Intecho, Paul Murphy commented: “We’ve been proud to blaze a trail right across the North West. Manchester is well recognised as the second destination city in the UK and we’re excited to see the demand across the wider region for our building automation solutions, across commercial and hospitality sectors. We want to ensure these building and dining experiences are second to none. Lighting plays an integral part in creating the desired ambience, whether a commercial building or in a restaurant. Using the latest technology solutions, we are enabling staff to control these experiences easily to suit the needs, preferences and mood of its occupants.”

In addition to the commercial and hospitality sectors, Intecho also has a strong track record in installing intelligent Smart Home technologies beyond lighting, to include both audio visual and state-of-the art sophisticated security systems throughout the high-end residential market, with notable success in the North West region of Cheshire, where Intecho is based.
