Headed by industry experts and sister and brother duo Cristina and Marius Hurduiala, the innovative training offers an intensive three-day course consisting of interactive classroom based sessions and professional study trips.

Taking place between Thursday, August 25 - Saturday, August 27 and Monday, September 26 - Wednesday, September 28, the course offers places for up to 20 students, who will become equipped with the knowledge, feasible skills and relevant experience needed to develop into an aspiring tour leader/manager.

Cristina said: “The Tour Manager Training Academy condenses everything that my brother Marius and I have learned over the past 25 years. We have created the program to provide unique, professional industry training for those looking to pursue a career in tour management.

“Beyond sharing local insights and hidden gems, we teach students how to take care of groups of tourists from the moment they clear customs to the last hug goodbye. We aim for our students to leave equipped with knowledge, feasible skills and relevant experience needed to develop into an aspiring tour leader. Contrary to other forms of learning, we want our students to become one step ahead of the people who apply for jobs without having had specific training.”

Each course comprises two and a half days of classroom training alongside half a day of field training, including a tour of Liverpool’s notable landmarks with a local guide. Those who successfully complete the course will obtain a Certificate of Attendance to aid them when applying for tour manager roles. The training dates will take place at 54 St James Street located in the Baltic Triangle.

Cristina added: “After respectfully gaining a certificate of completion, our students will be assessed on the basis of team work and presentation alongside other related materials. In addition to sharing constructive feedback and recruitment tips, we offer recommendations to leading British and US tour operators including Travelsphere and Just You to help candidates secure job interviews with esteemed firms.

“Following on from the success of the Liverpool based courses, we are looking on introducing a European arm to the training course. ‘Phase Two’ would allow training groups to complete week-long study trips across notable historic landmarks in Venice, Florence and Rome to name a few. Here at The Tour Manager Training Academy, we believe that the world is your oyster – a big journey begins with one small step!”

The Tour Manager Training Academy is priced at £449. Those that enrol by August 15 will benefit from the reduced price of £249 for the August instalment. Upcoming training dates include August 25-27 and September 26-28.
