Manchester-based law firm Horwich Cohen Coghlan Solicitors (HCC) has joined a programme that supports people with Down’s syndrome to access work.
HCC secures compensation and rehabilitation for people who have suffered a personal injury, major trauma or life-changing injury. More than two hundred people are employed at its office in Manchester who handle cases ranging from road traffic accidents to more complex clinical negligence and acquired brain injury cases.
The WorkFit programme, run by the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA), matches employers with adults with Down’s syndrome who are looking for work.
The programme ensures that people with Down’s syndrome are given opportunities to learn and work in a fulfilling and supportive business environment.
As a result of the programme, Bilal (pictured) has joined the HCC Solicitors team at its headquarters in Manchester.
David Horwich, managing partner at HCC Solicitors, said:
“We’re very happy to welcome Bilal to our team. It’s pleasing to see that he has settled in quickly and our team of more than two hundred staff are getting to know him and understanding more about Down’s syndrome.
