Four new trainees for Clarke Willmott's Manchester office

National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has announced four new trainees at its Manchester office.

 

Nelema Akhtar (Corporate paralegal), Alice Finlow (Employment paralegal), Sarah Kett (Intellectual Property paralegal) and Stephanie Peña (Construction paralegal) will be starting training contracts with the firm in September.

 

Nelema Akhtar studied Law at the University of Manchester followed by a combined LPC and Masters part-time at the University of Law in Manchester. At Clarke Willmott she works on a wide variety of deals from mergers & acquisitions to company reorganisations.

 

Recently appointed to the board of the Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group as an Education Director, Nelema will also be kept busy helping to promote a career in law across high schools in Greater Manchester, with a particular focus on setting up a mentoring scheme.

 

Alice Finlow studied the LLB at the University of Chester followed by the LPC with Masters part-time at the University of Law in Christleton, Chester.  

 

Her role at Clarke Willmott so far has seen her assist on a number of Employment Tribunal cases concerning the employment status of freelancers, an area of law she will continue to focus on during her training contract. 

 

Sarah Kett is training with the Clarke Willmott Intellectual Property team. Having studied the LLB course at Lancaster University and then the LLM (incorporating the LPC) at BPP University in Manchester, Sarah has worked on a variety of contentious and non-contentious IP matters already. Her experience includes cases in the High Court and IPEC (Intellectual Property Enterprise Court).

 

Stephanie Peña studied Classics at the University of Leeds and after graduating completed a GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) and LPC & MSc.

 

Training with the Construction team across both contentious and non-contentious matters, Stephanie is also one of the Social Directors for the Manchester branch of the Junior Chamber International (JCI).
