Immigration Solicitors Manchester Celebrate Range of Successes on Spouse Visa Applications

Immigration Solicitor Shayheda Butt from AWH Solicitors Manchester celebrates long list of successes for spouse visa applications.

Spouse visa applications take time, and can be rejected easily, so expert immigration advice is often recommended.

Recently, the AWH Solicitors team helped a Pakistani man reunite with his family in the UK on a spouse visa, even though his sponsor, his wife, originally moved to the UK on a spouse visa herself with her previous partner. In another case, Shayheda was able to help a father stay in the UK indefinitely with his child after his British wife had passed away, before he was granted his spouse visa.

In another case she was able to secure a successful outcome for a client applying to sponsor his wife for indefinite leave to remain in the UK within three months of first starting work on his application.

In addition, after having an application to appeal forwarded from another Manchester based solicitor firm, the team successfully overturned a Home Office rejection based on the incorrect belief the applicant did not have work for a legitimate business, therefore not meeting the requirements.

These cases are terribly difficult and require extensive understanding of UK immigration law and Home Office processes. When applications aren’t straight forward, which most family visa applications aren’t, a Home Office refusal can be caused all too easily.

Year on year, similar numbers of non-EU nationals have immigrated to the UK on a family visa with the intent to stay for a minimum period of one year. In the year ending 30th of September 2017 according to the Office for National Statistics this was an estimated 48,000 people immigrating to the UK from non-EU countries on a family visa, such as a spouse visa.

Spouse visa applications can very be complex, and there is often a large amount of evidence that needs to be provided to prove a relationship between the sponsor and applicant. Because of this, in many cases applicants need expert advice regarding their applications, and in many cases, they therefore prefer their application to be handled by an expert immigration solicitor.

Understanding how the application process works takes time, and you must be aware that the Home Office has extremely stringent rules in place which you must abide by when submitting your visa application. Even on the smallest of administration errors the Home Office can refuse you your visa. An error that can cause your refusal can be as trivial as the order of your evidentiary documentation, which is why most couples who are looking to settle in the UK would benefit from receiving advice from their immigration solicitor.
