The Manchester office of national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has assisted in the sale of an Eccles nursery to the Kids Planet Day Nurseries group.
Corporate partner Helen Wong advised Nutkins Nursery on the disposal of the business which has effective operating capacity for 80 children.
This latest acquisition takes Kids Planet to 44 settings in the North West and the Midlands, providing care to more than 5,600 children.
Owner Zarina Halsall, who established the nursery in 1999, said it had been a huge decision to sell.
“However, when the offer came in from Kids Planet, I felt they would be able to continue the high-quality childcare we have achieved at Nutkins,” said Zarina.
“I know the staff and children will be in safe hands and I wish them all the very best for the future and the exciting times ahead.”
Zarina praised Clarke Willmott’s Helen Wong for her support and guidance throughout the sale process which she described as an ‘emotional and stressful’ experience.
“No challenge is too big for Helen and she re-assured me of the proposed steps to solve any problems that arose,” added Zarina.
“I am glad Helen dedicated her time and expertise to my sale. Without her I am not sure it would have gone through. She helped me sell in 3 months.
“She is very experienced in selling nurseries and knows anything about Ofsted that is of vital importance. I’d recommend Helen Wong.”
Nutkins was sold on a freehold basis through Christie & Co with associate director Sofia Beck handling the sale. Tom Shorten of Pinsent Masons acted for Kids Planet.

Family-run Nutkins Nursery based in Half Edge Lane, offers full day-care facilities and an out of school club for children up to 12 years old.
