Hacking, cracking and social engineering. Should you care?

Cheshire businesses to get smart on Cyber Security

"We're looking forward to offering our attendees valuable understanding - to keep their devices, data and financial information safe."
Justine Clowes, partner at SAS Daniels LLP

The Business Club’s Spring Event aims to bring a fresh perspective to the way you view cyber security. If you or your business uses a computer, tablet, phone or smart device and you would like to learn more about staying safe, then this seminar could be for you!

During the event, Graham Fern, a security expert from Axon IT, will speak on the topic of ‘Cyber security - Hacking, cracking and social engineering’ where he will dispel the myths about hackers and share his know-how on cyber security issues.

Commenting on the event, Graham said: “Cyber criminals exploit people’s natural inclination to trust and unless you know their ruses, you are vulnerable to their trickery. Many people are lazy with their passwords for example and that creates a risk. I’m looking forward to providing practical advice to help people become aware of the threats in cyber space.”

The Business Club networking event, run by SAS Daniels LLP solicitors and Chartered Accountants Harts Limited, is aimed at professionals throughout Macclesfield and Cheshire, who are looking to build relationships with like-minded businesses, whilst gaining valuable insight from industry leaders.

Justine Clowes, Partner and Joint Head of the SAS Daniels’ Macclesfield office, said: “We’re all aware that we need to improve our knowledge of how to stay safe in this digital era and look forward to Graham’s talk offering our attendees valuable understanding - to keep their devices, data and financial information safe.”

Melissa Bowers, Director at Harts Ltd, concluded: “Our business club events always have interesting speakers that can make an impact or improve a business. We’re delighted to be welcoming guests back for another thought-provoking event with a chance to network and discuss the topic with other businesses’”

The Business Club Spring event will be held on Thursday, 22 March from 11.45am – 2.00pm at The Tytherington Club, Macclesfield. Registration and networking will begin at 11.45am, followed by Graham’s talk, two ‘spotlight’ slots and a two-course lunch.

Tickets to The Business Club Spring event can be purchased for £20 per person. For more information and to book your place visit: www.tbcspring2018.eventbrite.co.uk
