Acclaimed IVF clinic launches new practice at Spire Manchester Hospital

"By expanding our network of medical hubs we can continue to reach out to patients and support them through their fertility journeys, every step of the way"
Luciano Nardo

ONE of the region’s most respected IVF clinics has launched a new practice at the state-of-the-art Spire Manchester Hospital.

The flagship £65m Spire Manchester Hospital, on Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, opened its doors in January this year and offers everything from complex surgery and critical care, to screening and rehabilitation.

Now the hospital can add the Reproductive Health Group to their list of providers, who are specialists in fertility and gynaecology.

Consultant gynaecologist Mr Luciano Nardo, clinical director of Reproductive Health Group, said: “Ultimately, our aim is to give patients the best possible chance of realising their dreams of becoming a parent.

“We offer the full range of fertility treatment, delivered in the highest quality surroundings, by a dedicated team.

“Spire Manchester Hospital is a fantastic facility, in a readily-accessible central location at the beating heart of the North West, offering the latest technology and practicing some of the most advanced treatments available.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer a clinic here.

“And by expanding our network of medical hubs we can continue to reach out to patients and support them through their fertility journeys, every step of the way.”

Reproductive Health Group, headquartered in Daresbury Park, Cheshire, recently celebrated its third birthday.

When it first opened its doors in July 2014 it was described as ‘Britain’s first fully integrated fertility hospital’, offering fertility, gynaecology and maternity services, all under one roof.

Mr Nardo and his team have a wealth of experience in fertility, IVF and assisted conception, and believe passionately in personalised care to give patients the best possible chance of having a child.

Mr Nardo is an expert in early pregnancy problems, including recurrent miscarriage, implantation failure in IVF and advanced laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and adhesions.

And he’s also committed to research and study, being regularly invited to share his extensive knowledge at reproductive medicine conferences throughout the world.

Spire Manchester, meanwhile, plays home to 650 staff and consultants and provides patients with a wide range of surgical, medical and diagnostic services.

It comes complete with a cutting edge anti-gravity treadmill, hydrotherapy pool, physiotherapy gym, 120-seat education centre and a UK first CT scanner, which completes a full body scan in just five and a half seconds.

Chris Chadwick, Spire Manchester Hospital director, welcomed Reproductive Health Group to the fold, saying: “We are delighted to welcome Mr Nardo to the team at Spire Manchester Hospital.  Our brand new facility perfectly complements Reproductive Health Group’s offering, giving their patients an accessible location for outpatient consultations and diagnostic services.”

Around one in six couples in the UK experience problems conceiving, making fertility concerns one of the most common reasons women visit their GP.

IVF cycles being carried out in the UK are increasing year on year, with 67,708 cycles carried out in 2014 alone. Success rates are also continuing to rise.
