It’s a wrap! Office workers rose to the City Pantry Challenge to find the fastest burrito roller in Manchester – and to show their support for the less fortunate.
A team from Channel 4 wrapped up the competition with an award-winning performance - receiving a special trophy and two weeks of free breakfasts for themselves and their colleagues as a result of their culinary efforts.
Leading office food delivery company City Pantry partnered with restaurant brand Chilango to present the challenge, taken up by workers from across the city centre. The challenge was to “Feed the team – feed the city”.
City Pantry also partnered with local homeless charity Mustard Tree to run the lunchtime event and as a result Chilango is now donating 20 meals every week for one year to help feed Manchester’s less fortunate and homeless.
Teams were invited to see how many burritos they could roll in one minute. It proved to be a close run thing, with the Channel 4 team triumphing over runners-up from software company Degree 53 in the event held at Chilango in Oxford Street.
Their burrito rolling efforts were judged with the expert eye of Mia Trevelyan from Chilango.
Delighted Channel 4 team members Aishah Bushra, 20, and Chloe O’Toole, 22, received their trophy from Lukas Roth, Head of Expansion at City Pantry.
Aisha said: “The challenge is a lot harder than it looks. Luckily I’ve eaten so many burritos in the past I knew what we had to do to win it!
We got on a real roll and we’re really pleased to be judged the winners.
“We’ve had a lot fun doing it and it is great that the event is also helping support Mustard Tree and its important work in the city.”

Mustard Tree helps people with food and other essential items when they are in crisis or struggling to make ends meet.
