Women In The Food Industry and Better with Jam join Enterprise Nation in Manchester for new small business meet-up Food & Drink

Enterprise Nation Event featuring Women in the Food Industry and Better with Jam

We are delighted to announce we are joining small business community Enterprise Nation, for coffee and conversation in Manchester on 4th April 2019 from 10am to 11.30am. This is the first in a new series of free networking meet-ups  by Enterprise Nation for food and drink business owners at Hatch, the home of independent food and drink in Manchester.

Janie Ash, co-founder of  Women In The Food Industry and Managing Director of Brand Marketing agency Better With Jam will be on hand to offer advice. They are known as an agency with innovation, creativity and original thinking hard-wired into their DNA – and a love of helping hospitality, food and drinks businesses get noticed.

The agency prides themselves in working with food, drink and hospitality clients who would rather outsmart the competition than outspend them, helping brands engage with their customers in more effective, profitable ways. For more than 30 years they’ve paired strategic insight with creative ideas to help hundreds of small and large businesses, stand-out, transform, grow and find their compelling point of difference.

Mecca Ibrahim is Janie's co-founder in Women in the Food Industry and Better with Jam's Marketing Director. She has impeccable food credentials having worked as Head of Marketing and Social at Great British Chefs.

Janie is delighted to be invited to share her expertise at the Enterprise Nation Event:

"We’re passionate about the narrative powers of food. Each chef, product, restaurant, or hotel has a story to tell, whether it’s a yarn, ancient myths or family memory. When we collaborate, we become greater than the sum of our parts. Add up all our team’s experience and you get over 125 years of brand, marketing, creative, digital and advertising success in London, Leeds, Manchester, Los Angeles and Lancaster."

She explains the motivation for setting up Women in the Food Industry:

"There’s this idea that men are artists and women are mere producers. And as long as women’s creativity is seen as whimsy, or their management is reframed as nurturing, these conditions won’t change: Women will be less likely to get the opportunity to run a business built in the model they’d want to see. Women in the food industry need a platform where they can have a voice and be seen.

Our shared mantra is we believe none of us is stronger than all of us and together, anything is possible. We want to celebrate and champion all women in food industry and our heartfelt desire is to build a nurturing community and encourage women to help women."

Workspace provider Bruntwood is hosting us at the revolutionary venue, Öl Nano Brewery & Bar, and offering 20% off meeting rooms in its spaces to all attendees.

"We're passionate about the narrative powers of food. Each chef, product, restaurant, or hotel has a story to tell, whether its a yarn, ancient myths or family memory."
