Discover Try'd Harder a zesty Six Nations winner from Old School Brewery

"We wanted to mark the start of the Six Nations with a different style of ale and we think Trys Harder is just the thing to suit the occasion.''"
Catherine Walsh from Old School Brewery

The 2020 Six Nations is almost upon us. England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, and Italy will once again clash to lift one of Rugby Union’s most hotly contested trophies.

Handily beer lovers will be able to toast on their nation’s rugby team throughout February and March with a specially commissioned beer from Old School Brewery.

Try’d Harder has been brewed by the team at the north Lancashire brewery to ensure that beer lovers no matter who they support will be winners come the final whistle.

Garth, Old School Brewery’s head brewer has a bit of a secret passion for rugby, which is why he decided to revisit a beer he first brewed in 2015…

After a bit of thinking time Garth decided to create a punchy zesty brew with a trio of English hops rather than a heavier beer that might leave you struggling to get over the line after 90 minutes of action-packed rugby…

At 4.0% ABV Try’d Harder delivers a refreshingly zesty English Pale Ale, brim full of citrus, mango, pine, lemon, and floral characters… the perfect accompaniment to every game.

There’s no doubt that England’s successes in the Rugby World Cup 2019 and Wales’s Grand Slam victory in the Six Nations last year has fuelled interest in the outcome of this year’s tournament. Will Wales repeat their success of last year or will England win through this time to can steal their crown???

One thing’s for certain there will be teams in the tournament who should’ve Try’d Harder…

Catherine Walsh, from Old School Brewery, commented: ‘’We wanted to mark the start of the Six Nations with a different style of ale and we think Try’s Harder is just the thing to suit the occasion. Our EPA is a real winner and will definitely help create a scrum at the bar in pubs up and down the North West as rugby fans gather to cheer on their country in this year’s Six Nations."
