Stockport's EHL Ingredients appoints new NPD Manager

EHL Ingredients, a leading importer, blender and supplier of food ingredients, has announced the appointment of an NPD Manager to lead the development of new blends, which will enhance the current product range.
 
Katherine Davis, aged 49, brings over 25 years’ experience to the role, having previously worked as NPD manager at MRC Ltd.  She established her development expertise in creating chilled and ambient sauces as well a wide range of dry products from conception to launch for customers in food manufacturing, retail and butchery sectors.
 
In her position at EHL, Katherine will specialise in creating innovative conventional and organic dry ingredient blends that will include coatings, rubs, seasonings and dry marinades for meat, fish and vegetable dishes. The incorporation of new exciting ingredients will add provenance to EHL customer products. Her main focus will be on the UK food manufacturing, food service, catering, bakery, snacks, wholesale and cash and carry. The organic, health food shops and speciality food stores will also be catered for.

Commenting on her appointment, Katherine said: “Creating and launching new blends is paramount to the company’s expansion plans this year, as marinades, coatings and rubs are a fast growing food trend that demands constant attention and modification. I’m excited to be joining the team and developing new ingredient blends to add to EHL’s successful portfolio.”
 
Katherine has also held NPD and Food Technologist roles at Robertson’s (based in South Africa) and has developed products for Knorr, Hellman’s and KFC. She will be based at the company’s head office in Reddish, Stockport, and will report to Tasneem Backhouse, Sales and Marketing Director.  
 
Tasneem said: “Katherine joins the team at a very exciting time as we are in a period of strong growth and have plans for further expansion. She will be a great asset to the team and her knowledge, experience and reputation within the food industry will help to drive the company forward and strengthen our offering in organic, conventional ingredients and blends”.
 
Katherine’s appointment takes EHL Ingredients’ staff totals to 27 at its Stockport head office.
 
EHL Ingredients supplies high quality conventional and organic food ingredients from all over the world to the food manufacturing industry including spices, seasoning, herbs, seeds and dried fruits, nuts, lentils, grains and vegetables. It currently offers around 300 food ingredients and boasts a 200-strong organic range as well as over 50 custom blends.
