Manchester-based Harbur Construction has strengthened its senior team with a new appointment and a promotion.

Harbur, which builds for some of the UK’s largest social housing providers, has appointed Andrew Moore as commercial manager and promoted Carolyn Forshaw to finance director.

Andrew, 34, from the Wirral, has been working in the construction industry for 16 years and brings with him a wealth of experience.

He is currently working towards the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors accreditation and joins the firm from Paragon Construction where he was a managing quantity surveyor.

Andrew will be responsible for managing a number of areas of the business as well as making sure all schemes are delivered on time and in budget.

Carolyn has been with the firm for just over a year and joined as head of finance to head up the growing company’s finance function.

In her new role as finance director Carolyn, a charted management accountant with more than 12 years in the construction sector, has become a member of the Harbur’s board and is responsible for all financial aspects of the business.

Carolyn, 50, from Altrincham has worked for a number of major housebuilders including Taylor Wimpey and McCarthy Stone.

Richard Hutchinson, managing director at Harbur Construction, said: “Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience having worked in a range of sectors during his career and joins us at a time of continued growth, it’s great to have him on board.

“Since joining us Carolyn’s original role has developed and grown and her promotion to finance director is a well-deserved one. Andrew and Carolyn will be real assets in helping us achieve our goals.”
