Construction waste management company, Circle Liverpool Limited, is celebrating a major milestone for the £2.2 million turnover North West business.
In the first 10 years of its operation, 150,000 tons of construction waste – including wood, plastic, soil and debris – has been hand processed by the team, which sorts 100 per cent of waste either for recycling, reuse or resale.
Founded in 2006 as a joint venture between national contractor, Seddon, and Merseyside housing associations, The Riverside Group and Plus Dane Housing Group, Circle Liverpool currently employs 15 local people at its Blackstone Street site.
Serving the entire North West, the company sorts and recycles construction waste for customers including builders, contractors and housing associations – benefitting their businesses, local communities and the wider environment.
Circle Liverpool Limited offers employment opportunities to people who are out of work, education and training and gives them a chance to work towards NVQ qualifications.

We’ve always operated as efficiently as possible, and to achieve 100 per cent recyclability is a real achievement.
“We’re saving our customers money by helping them to avoid the rising landfill tax, while contributing to making the construction industry as environmentally friendly as it can be as part of a strong circular economy. And as all the planned developments in the north Liverpool area come to fruition, the future for Circle is rosy.”
Claire Griffiths, executive director for property, Plus Dane Housing and James Hill, head of asset investment at Riverside Group also sit on the Circle Liverpool Board. Both are due to step down from the Board in 2017.

“We believe the business is unique to the housing sector. Our aims are to ensure that building waste is recycled in a manner which reduces environmental impact while creating employment for local people.”
