Working in partnership with Wyre Borough Council, Regenda Homes acquired five semi-detached three-bedroom properties which had been long term empty and fell into disrepair.
Fleetwood is a key development area for the provider, who is also pumping £10m into four estates across the town, and the refurbishment project has further bolstered its development strategy and number of homes.
The five properties, all made available for social rent, have been restored to an attractive yet affordable finish by M&Y Maintenance and Construction.
Three of the homes are occupied with the final two expected to be let within the next few weeks.
Alex Whittle, Project Manager at The Regenda Group, said: “We are delighted to have been able to bring these five properties back into use and provide much needed affordable housing in Fleetwood.
“It makes no sense for good quality homes to be stood empty and derelict, and so innovative projects such as this are really important.
“I would like to thank Wyre Council and M&Y Maintenance and Construction for their support and work.”
Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction, said: “We are really pleased with the results our team have delivered on this project.
“As an organisation we are working hard on long term projects across Fleetwood and so it is fantastic to bring this to a successful close, providing attractive refurbished properties for affordable rent.”
The Wyre Empty Homes project was part funded by grant money from the Homes England.
"We are delighted to have been able to bring these five properties back into use and provide much needed affordable housing in Fleetwood."
