Harbur Construction teams up with national charity for 2014

Manchester-based Harbur Construction has named Redeeming Our Communities (ROC) as its national charity for 2014.

The leading affordable housing, residential, commercial, retail and leisure developer has sealed its commitment with a donation of £9,000.

ROC, which has its headquarters in Manchester, aims to create better communities in the UK’s most deprived areas.  With projects in nine cities across the UK, it relies on donations and grant funding to continue its work.

It works with community groups, churches, the emergency services, local authorities and voluntary agencies to transform communities, in very challenging areas.

Rebecca Green, national development manager at ROC said: “We are delighted to receive such a generous donation, this funding is vital in order for us to continue in our efforts to recruit people of goodwill to work together towards a safer kinder community.”

Christian Bury, managing director of Harbur Construction said: “We’ve long been a supporter of ROC and the work being done in transforming the communities it serves and felt that the time was right to cement that relationship.

“For many people trapped in desperate or challenging situations, ROC offers a lifeline that can really make a difference, especially when it comes to the reduction of anti-social behaviour, and we’re really pleased to be able to help that work continue.”
