Local businesses show their support for Hospice Ball

"The hospice really needs the support of the business community in Merseyside as we all rely on it being there for us at our time of need. The care my dad received was outstanding."

Business from across Liverpool and Merseyside are showing their support for the hospice by attending its first Midsummer Night Ball at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Liverpool on Friday 21st June.

The hospice, which cares for around 200 people with life-limiting illnesses from across our community each year, was awarded a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC (Care Quality Commission) last year. It is now looking to extend the support and services it provides to more people over the coming years and is counting on local businesses for their support.

Jim Forshaw, from the North Liverpool Business Forum, will be there on the night to show his support, along with other business colleagues from the networking group. Jim has first hand experience of the hospice as it’s where his father passed away in 2011.

Jim said: “The hospice really needs the support of the business community in Merseyside as we all rely on it being there for us at our time of need. The care my dad received was outstanding. It allowed him to spend his last few days with dignity, and for me that was priceless. They always showed great compassion right to the very end, and they continued to care for us as a family long after.

“For any business looking for a charity to support, this is it. They do need more help as there are so many more people out there who would benefit from hospice services - you really couldn't appreciate how valuable the work they do is until you are in the unfortunate position of knowing that you are losing a loved one.

“We’re all really looking forward to the Midsummer Night Ball and hope other business will join us for what looks set to be a fantastic evening.”

The Midsummer Night Ball will be a night of glitz and glamour with Liverpool legend Asa Murphy taking to the stage with his band to perform a range of classic hits from swing to rock and roll.

The hospice has also just announced an incredible line up of auction and silent auction prizes which will be up for grabs, including luxury holidays, spa retreats and experience days as well as a fantastic range of sporting and movie memorabilia. The silent auction will be open for bids ahead of the ball so even those unable to attend will still be able to bid for any of the incredible prizes on offer.

Tickets to the Midsummer Night Ball are still available for just £65 per person but book fast to secure your place. To buy tickets call 0151 932 6044 or email events@jospice.org.uk.
