Liverpool independent film and TV production company LA Productions has become the first organisation to support the new Lord Mayor’s charity appeal.
During her year in office, Councillor Anna Rothery has named four charities she is raising funds for whilst highlighting the excellent work they do.
They are the Anthony Walker Foundation, Amadudu Women’s Refuge, Liverpool City Region Pride Foundation and the Merseyside Somali and Community Association.
Yesterday (9th September), founder of LA Productions Colin McKeown and general manager Sharon Ruddock met with the Lord Mayor to hand over a cheque for £1,000 which will go towards her chosen charities. It is hoped that other local businesses will follow suit and join the initiative pledge.
Councillor Rothery said: “It was a welcome surprise when Colin McKeown from LA Productions offered to kick-start my Lord Mayor’s ‘201 club’ with a donation of £1,000.
“The 201 club aims to draw support and donations from the wide range of businesses within Merseyside. I look forward to working closely with the LA Productions team and reaching out to wider Merseyside businesses in the coming months to assist me in raising much needed funds for our worthy charities.
