Maginus to Step-up Recruitment Following Impressive Growth

Wythenshawe headquartered retail IT solution provider grows revenues by 14% and looks to double the size of the business within three years

Maginus to Step-up Recruitment Following Impressive Growth

"We have set ourselves some ambitious targets for this year and a large part of achieving them will be recruiting the right people in the right areas "
Simon Weeks

Manchester based Maginus, a leading wholesale distribution and retail IT solution provider, has reported a 14% increase in revenues on a turnover of £9.3 million in its 2016 year end accounts, after £5 billion in transactions were completed on Maginus systems during the period.

During its financial year, which ran from August 2015 to July 2016, Maginus added eight new customers, including the RSPB, Straight, Habitat and the UCA, as well as completing projects for existing clients including catering-supplier Nisbets, Card Factory and The Wine Society, leading to it posting a profit of in excess of £500k.

“At the start of the last financial year we embarked on an aggressive business growth plan,” commented CEO Simon Weeks, “At the heart of this was a new strategy which saw us enhance our key solutions, focus on expanding into new market sectors and ensuring we became a critical business partner to the customer base. This has led to us having our best business performance in a number of years and put us in a strong position to double the size of the business within three years.”

Key to Maginus’ growth plans will be recruitment, with the business looking to increase the team, with new staff in its IT support, project management, customer service and product development teams to service the extended customer base and take on new contracts. This will follow on from the addition of 20 new recruits during 2015/16.

In addition to its financial results, Maginus has also outlined its targets for the coming year which include: becoming the number one supplier of the EPiServer eCommerce solution in the UK, building on its reputation as the best quality implementer of Microsoft Dynamics AX in the UK, continuing to enhance Maginus OMS, its proprietary distribution solution, as well as plans to build a user community website and create a number of industry advisory boards.

“We have set ourselves some ambitious targets for this year and a large part of achieving them will be recruiting the right people in the right areas,” added Weeks, “We are confident that, with the hot-bed of talent the North West has to offer, plus the calibre of people that the region’s Universities attract and nurture, we will be able to do this and make significant progress on achieving our goal of doubling the business by 2019.”
