Chester Art Fair is First to Deliver Ground Breaking Art Technology

Chester will play host to a technology first in November this year when the Deepbridge Chester Arts Fair pioneers the industrys latest art technology.

Chester Art Fair is First to Deliver Ground Breaking Art Technology

"It is the first time the technology has been employed on this scale at a UK Art Fair and we are delighted about benefits for visitors."
Shirley-Ann O'Neill

ActivCanvas technology promises to delight art buyers by enabling fair goers to access more information about any artwork simply by pointing their phone at it. It’s powerful visual recognition technology recognises the artwork and brings it to life, showing the art buyer hidden information about that piece using augmented reality video and a suite of other engaging features.

Buyers will be able to shortlist the artwork to return to it later where they can also view more artwork by that artist and from the art fair. In addition, buyers will continue to get "secret" info about the artworks and artists that interest them and receive special offers only available through the app.

Fair Co-Director, Shirley-Ann O’Neill said “The technology also opens up a range of exciting possibilities for artists. These include closer customer engagement, valuable data demonstrating buyer preferences and the ability to directly communicate with buyers before, during and after the event. It is the first time the technology has been employed on this scale at a UK Art Fair and we are delighted about benefits for visitors”.

This year the Fair is pleased to be able to bring highly collectible investment art from Karl Melegari, Banksy and Bob Dylan, as well as original art by some of today’s leading international artists at a range of affordable prices. Artists from the all over the UK will feature, as well artists from Europe, Middle East, USA and Far East.

The combined knowledge and experience of the artists and dealers participating will ensure that visitors are able to find the perfect piece of art to suit their home and their pocket.  Buyers can rest assured that all of the art available has been selected for its quality and provenance.

The fifth edition of the Chester Art Fair, proudly sponsored by Deepbridge Capital, will be held from 18th to 20th November at Chester Racecourse. The ticket-only Private View will take place on Friday 18th November. Chester Art Fair launched in 2012 and has become an established part of the international art fair calendar in the five years since it’s creation. The fair brings a fantastic selection of respected UK and international artists and dealers into the heart of Cheshire. For more information, visit www.chesterartsfair.co.uk
