Cupid called in Liverpool this week, as Liverpool shoppers were treated to a one off Valentine’s Day performance from the Royal Court Theatre Choir in St Johns Shopping Centre.

On Tuesday February 14th, 35 members of the esteemed choir took residence in St Johns from 4-5pm, where they serenaded shoppers with classic love songs like ’You To Me Are Everything’ and ‘Help!’, while raising money for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Crowds quickly gathered in the Centre, as hopeless romantics buying last minute Valentine’s gifts joined in with the choir performing their starry-eyed recital, and they also showed their support for Claire House by donating more than £160 to during the hour long performance.

This special performance was arranged as part of St Johns’ ongoing plan to raise as much money as possible for Claire House Children’s Hospice, which helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life through specialist nursing care and emotional support.

Robert Bradley, St Johns centre manager, says; ‘We at St Johns would like to extend our thanks not only to the incredibly talented members of the Royal Court Theatre Choir for putting on such a spellbinding performance in the centre, but also to the customers who really got in the spirit and donated such a great amount of money to Claire House.

‘The Claire House team does amazing work and makes such a huge difference to so many people during what is often the most difficult time of their life. The Royal Court Theatre Choir’s performance was about much more than just entertaining shoppers, it was a chance for us to come together as a community and enjoy some home-grown talent while supporting a very worthwhile local charity, and I’m delighted the money raised will contribute to the hard work carried out at Claire House. ’
