Job search technology redefined by new mobile app

"Using the latest in machine learning algorithms we can ensure candidates and hirers dont miss each other in the search process, unlike keyword search engines that are currently the norm."
Matthew Dodd

Zoek, a job-search technology start-up based in Cheshire, has launched the second generation of their groundbreaking mobile job search app. Building on valuable feedback from an earlier version, it has been redesigned to provide a more intuitive and mobile native experience.

But what sets the app apart is that it learns from a user’s previous responses to job search results, utilising machine learning technology similar to websites like Amazon. This produces a more accurate job match for the candidate, rather than crude word search results which traditionally produce a large number of irrelevant jobs. Users can swipe left to reject a job-search result or right to save it, and apply directly from the app on their mobile.

With 15-20,000 unique job hunters every day and a TV advertising campaign due to hit the small screen in October, candidate numbers are expected to soar. 215,000 jobs are already listed, with a combination of data from existing job boards, and some early registrations from big brands like Tesco.

Operations Director Matthew Dodd said “We’re excited to be re-launching Zoek in its new form. We learnt an awful lot from version one and applied this to develop a far more appealing and advanced product for both jobseekers and job advertisers.

“Using the latest in machine learning algorithms we can ensure candidates and hirers don’t miss each other in the search process, unlike keyword search engines that are currently the norm. Add to this an extremely user friendly system and competitive pricing structure and you have a system that, we feel, can be a real market leader.”

The app is now live for candidates in both the Android and iOS app stores, or search for 'job-search by Zoek'.

Recruiters can register for the hirer portal and post a job here.
