The Commercial Property team at Bury-based solicitors Clough & Willis has completed a deal on behalf of HH Smith & Sons which saw the construction firm purchase land and buildings at 85 Bury Old Road in Whitefield.
The deal was worth £475,000 and will now see HH Smith redevelop the site which will be used as head office space. The team at Clough & Willis handled all commercial property legal elements of the transaction.
As well as the acquisition of 85 Bury Old Road, Clough & Willis has also advised on the £350,000 refinancing of two existing properties in HH Smith & Son’s portfolio: Smith’s Yard (95 Bury Old Road) and 120 Bury New Road.
Smith’s Yard is currently used as HH Smith's offices, whilst 120 Bury New Rd is tenanted with two shops on the ground floor and a residential flat above. The refinancing deal saw HH Smith change lenders from Yorkshire Bank to Handelsbanken.
