Social Burst celebrates StartMeUp Pitch success

Social media growth service wins Liverpool Orega office space worth £10k

Social Burst celebrates StartMeUp Pitch success

"The process has been a fantastic journey, and we were blown away by the amount of talented business owners in Liverpool."
Zach Douglas, Managing Director, Orega

Serviced office provider Orega has announced that Social Burst is the winner of its Liverpool #StartMeUp Pitch competition, receiving six months of free office space at 20 Chapel Street, in the heart of the city’s dynamic commercial district.

The #StartMeUp Pitch, which launched in September, asked local businesses to submit short business pitches online, with three finalists making it through to pitch on 5 December.

Social Burst’s founder and director Alex Lloyd was joined by fellow directors Scott Evans and Dave Tompkins to make the case for the social media growth service to #StartMeUp’s judging panel.

The other finalists – Kinicho and Kin Probate – also faced the Dragons-Den style panel and gave Social Burst a run for its money.

Orega’s managing director, Zach Douglas, explained the inspiration behind the competition: "We wanted to connect with the local business community in the areas where we have new Orega locations.

“I know personally how hard it is to take your business to the next level so giving these aspiring companies the opportunity to have office space in a great location along with the additional professional support from our teams seemed the best way to do this.

“The process has been a fantastic journey, and we were blown away by the amount of talented business owners in Liverpool.”

Paul Finch, co-founder of Orega, said: “We were very impressed with the enthusiasm and passion shown by the finalists, they did themselves proud. We felt that Alex, Scott and Dave from Social Burst deserved to win as they had the most viable business for scaling up now and therefore the greatest need for an Orega office.”

Alex Lloyd of Social Burst said: “The whole process has helped us shape the direction of our business. It was great to be able to pitch in front of established business owners, and we were very happy to win. This is going to propel our company forward in 2018.”

Douglas concluded: “Everyone enjoyed the final pitch and we look forward to seeing where the businesses are in a few months' time.”
