Digital Media in Hospitality

Kuits Solicitors team up with MSM Digital for Exclusive Hospitality Seminar.

Digital Media in Hospitality

""

Commercial law firm Kuits and marketing agency MSM Digital joined forces to advise leisure and hospitality brands on how to build and protect their brand at a seminar held in Manchester last week.

The event took place at Kuits’ new offices at Blackfriars House, Parsonage, and the presentation was followed by networking, food and drinks provided by Fazenda and Lunya on the firm’s rooftop garden.

A Kuits team including Tony Lyons, Head of Licensing, Ian Morris, Head of Intellectual Property, and Martin Lewis, Commercial Partner, took guests through the essentials of brand protection, including the value of safeguarding their name via a trade mark, and how to manage derogatory comments posted on social media and review sites such as TripAdvisor.

To ensure operators are aware of their obligations under database law or how this effects their marketing and communications, the firm also presented on the ways operators must collect, store and use customers’ private information.

Manchester-based MSM Digital co-owners Neil Collins and Michael Goldman were both in attendance at the seminar, with Michael delivering an eye-opening presentation concentrating on how the hospitality sector can create, grow and maintain a valuable email customer database to increase brand awareness, increase customers and dramatically boost profitability.

Michael also offered invaluable guidance on building and maintaining social media platforms whilst working in conjunction with email marketing.

Speaking of the partnership, Neil Collins said: “The MSM team are extremely proud to be the guest speakers at Kuits’ informative seminar. Social media is becoming the backbone for many hospitality businesses and it’s vital that the right information is portrayed throughout the industry. We’re looking forward to working alongside Kuits again in the future.”

Tony Lyons, Head of Licensing for Kuits, said: “Both Kuits and MSM specialise in advising clients in the leisure and hospitality sector, so the partnership made sense to us. We were also very pleased that the sun stayed out so that we were able to have drinks on our rooftop terrace – not always guaranteed in Manchester!”

Representatives from many of the city’s leading enterprises were in attendance.
