Scamps secures top ten spot in UK nursery ratings

""

Macclesfield-based Scamps has been ranked in the top 10 UK nurseries, based on recommendations and reviews from parents and guardians.

The annual awards, run by industry website and online directory, daynurseries.co.uk, recognised Scamps as the highest rated day nursery in Cheshire and one of the top ten best day nurseries in the country out of a total of 11,507 day nurseries.

The awards are based on over 12,818 recommendations received during 2013-14 from parents, relatives and guardians of children who attend the nurseries.

The accolade is another feather in the nursery’s cap, having retained its coveted ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating, as well as being selected by Cheshire East Council as a beacon for language development.

Scamps was taken over by John Sutton and Deborah Baines in 2011 and provides early years care for 98 children, employing 25 members of staff at its South Park site on Poplar Road in Macclesfield.

Director of daynurseries.co.uk, Davina Ludlow, said: “We felt the best people to rate a day nursery were the people who really know its ins and outs; the parents, relatives and guardians of the children who attend.

“Scamps day nursery has proved that it is an excellent childcare setting and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top recommended nursery. It’s a great achievement to be recognised by your hard work, but particularly from the people who you work hard for.”

The nursery has been praised by parents and guardians, whose feedback includes comments such as: “Every aspect of my daughter’s development is taken into consideration and her development is thanks to a very highly skilled team. I couldn't be happier with the service they provide” and “Scamps is an outstanding nursery. Everyone who works there inspires confidence in their ability to care, but it is the way they nurture the children that sets them apart.”

Deborah Baines, owner and manager of Scamps, added: “This is excellent news and an achievement we’re really proud of. We believe strongly in providing children with the very best start in life and that has always been central to everything we do.

“To be recommended so highly by parents, guardians and relatives of children in our care makes us very proud. We are extremely passionate about what we do and strive to continually raise the bar when it comes to our commitment to excellence in childcare and development.”
