In-Spire-ing Account Win For Broderick's Group

"Talking to Broderick's and seeing the quality of their machines, I knew that the team had a very clear understanding of the level of service and produce we'd like to offer."
Giuseppe Altieri, Spire Manchester

As part of its drive to create a welcoming experience, Spire Manchester Hospital in Didsbury has awarded its vending refreshments contract to Broderick’s Group: the Sharston-based coffee and refreshments specialist: www.brodericks.co.uk

Broderick’s has installed over 30 machines in the private hospital, including hot drinks, snacks and water machines in both public and staff areas.  The vending operator has also provided a solution for the hospital’s bistro.

Giuseppe Altieri, Spire Manchester Hospital’s catering manager, appointed Broderick’s as the hospital’s official vending partner following a competitive pitch.  A coffee connoisseur himself, Giuseppe – who is charged with ensuring the catering experience for patients and their visitors in line with the hospital’s focus on quality and service – was impressed by Broderick’s approach.  He said: ‘’There’s a real misconception about hospital food and refreshments, and at Spire Manchester, we’re on a mission to change that.

‘’When people are in hospital, as a patient, visitor, or member of staff, it’s our job to help recharge and refresh them – whether that’s in the café, or by providing options to pick up a drink or snack on the move.  Talking to Broderick’s and seeing the quality of their machines, I knew that the team had a very clear understanding of the level of service and produce we’d like to offer.  Their approach to excellence is exactly in line with ours and their attention to detail is second to none.’’

Spire was attracted by the fact that Broderick’s – unlike many other vending providers –offers the option of real milk in its machines.  The hospital included a luxurious fresh brew tea and bean-to-cup vending machine for coffee-shop worthy coffees and a Media Vend machine, which features video screens that Spire can use to communicate with users.

Andrew Murphy of Broderick’s commented: ‘’We’re delighted to add Spire Manchester to our portfolio of customers.  The hospital catering team is extremely discerning in the machines it has specified and it’s great to know that we’re helping to give hospital food a good name!’’
