To mark the milestone anniversary of Poco Coffee’s original Earlestown location, the cafe has signed a two-year kit sponsorship with Newton Hotshots Adult Netball Team, in a bid to continue its efforts to give back to the local area.

As part of the collaboration, the aptly named ladies team will don a brand new sports kit courtesy of the coffee shop.

Director of Poco Coffee Angela Sutton said: “Having established the brand in 2012, not only are we excited to be celebrating the Earlestown venue’s fourth birthday, it’s great to reminisce on how the business has grown over the years.  Now with three North West based sites and a North Wales coffee shop, we maintain our community engagement and continue to support local causes, which is what we believe has shaped our loyal customer base.

“With this in mind, we have signed a two year kit sponsorship with Newton Hotshots Adult Netball Team to help support the longevity of the team and give the ladies the recognition that they deserve.”

Founded by husband and wife duo Richard and Angela Sutton in 2012, Poco Coffee operates three sites across Earlestown, Prescot and Kirkby, in addition to the new Llandudno based venue.

The venues serve up a range of barista beverages including coffee, tea and hot chocolate to name a few, alongside a selection of freshly made sandwiches, paninis, toasties, homemade soups and Scouse. Regular community events are also showcased throughout each month.

Richard said: “Poco Coffee was founded on the concept of offering a refreshing coffee shop experience with a community focus. Poco, meaning small in Spanish, was coined to reflect the concept of the ‘small’ brand taking on the large chains on the high street.

“In terms of the future, we hope to further our active community involvement by showcasing exciting new music and comedy nights, in addition to adding a social enterprise arm to the Kirkby outlet. As part of our on-going company developments, plans to franchise nationally are currently underway.”

Newton Hotshots Netball Captain Louise Marsh added: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Poco on board as our team sponsor. We’re a local team and it’s great to have a local sponsor on board. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Richard and Angela for their support.”
