Globally recognised local accountancy professional shortlisted at the AAT Awards

""

Audit & Technical Partner at Northwest based Leavitt Walmsley Associates (LWA), Steve Collings, has been shortlisted at the 2017 AAT (The Association of Accounting Technician's) Professional Member Awards, in the category for Professional Member of the Year. Also an Author and widely renowned industry advisor, Steve has been recognised for his dedication and commitment to the accounting industry globally throughout his career.

The Professional Member of the Year Award recognises members who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and career success, and having landed exclusive deals with market leading providers such as IRIS, representing the UK on the editorial board for a global publishing firm, and written a number of books in the past 12 months alone, Steve was a perfect fit for the accolade.

The quality of entries was extremely high for the 2017 awards, so making the shortlist of just 4 members is an outstanding achievement. Commenting on his shortlisting, Steve says;

I am delighted to have been recognised at the AAT Professional Member Awards, particularly due to the dedication and passion I have for the industry, and most importantly contributing to the AAT through webinars, articles and more. My passion for providing services to the accounting world has continued to grow from the very beginning of my career since becoming a student of AAT in 1998, so to be awarded with this accolade would be a huge honour.

Adding to this, Managing Partner and Co-Director with Steve, Les Leavitt, comments;

Steve is the ideal representative for this award, illustrating every aspect of what it takes to be an exceptional practitioner, incorporating an inspiration ethos, a humbled attitude and continuous professional and academic development, all selflessly encouraged onto others.

Now in its ninth year, the AAT Annual Conference will be held over two days in June and include a prestigious awards ceremony and dinner where the winners will be announced. This flagship event covers over 20 finance topics from Brexit to Making Tax Digital, and is something Steve annually contributes to as an expert speaker, but this year may be a little different if he’s walking away with an award!
