Record High for Professional Liverpool Membership

Record High for Professional Liverpool Membership

""

Professional Liverpool has announced record membership levels, increasing by 25 per cent over the last six months.

The organisation, which exists to promote the growing financial and professionals sector in the Liverpool City Region, has seen membership grow from 280 to 350 firms.

It has been a busy year for the organisation after moving into new offices at the Cotton Exchange, where they have recently committed to a long-term lease.

John Hall, chief executive of Professional Liverpool, said: “Over the last six months, Professional Liverpool has gone from strength to strength, building its membership base and expanding its sectors.

“The increase in subscriptions has allowed us to reinvest into the organisation to offer an enhanced service to members – for example, extending our events programme even further and investing in our website.

“We have also strengthened our connections with the city’s universities and have established a basis for working with the Local Enterprise Partnership on strategic issues affecting the sector.”

Professional Liverpool has held more than 23 sell-out events this year, with each event averaging 90 attendees.

The annual property event, Cannes Do, was another sell-out success and raised £18,500 for chosen charities KIND, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Zoe’s Place. Other popular events have included the ‘Access to Alternative Finance’ series run by the Corporate Finance Group.

Professional Liverpool has also announced a partnership with Merseyside Young Professionals and will be working closely to help the future generation of professionals to progress and network.

There will be joint events being held this summer such as the Cycle Day, a scenic 45-mile circular route around the city, and a School’s Out event to celebrate the start of the summer holidays.

Professional Liverpool has also recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Liverpool John Moores University. It already has an MOU in place with the University of Liverpool.

The MOU underpins the organisation’s commitment to supporting the city’s universities in helping students and graduates to gain the necessary skills, experience and knowledge to gain employment.

John added: “We are pleased to be joining forces with such leading organisations. We believe collaboration is crucial, especially as we look to build on the professional sectors in the city and further drive investment.”

Professional Liverpool sectors include design, marketing and communications, construction, healthcare and property. The organisation has also welcomed an increase in members from new sectors such as hospitality and the creative industry.
